I just ordered one based only on what I’ve read in these forums! 🙂
Let’s hope you’re all right about this little box! But I bet you are!

I will wait and be very happy to hear what you have to say good or bad. From my view point I don’t want to be without one, yes lots of other kit is great too but this is the baseline for me as a practice amp. I am really looking forward to your appraisal when you have found your way around it. JohnStrat

I don’t know- I bought one a while back and other than pretty good sound from a small package and the fact it can be used as an interface, I just haven’t figured out the allure of it. I already have an interface that I prefer to keep and use because I will mic amps and do vocals. My Fender Vibro Champ XD has a line out so I can play from amp direct to DAW without having to mic it. It also has 14 different amp settings.
I’d be interested in hearing more about what makes this amp so special. I’m not cutting it down, I just think that there is more than one way to skin a cat. (Right now, I actually have mine for sale on Craigslist…)

I’m thinking about one too, you get a white or black one? lol.. I bet you thumping away on your acoustic miced and all that software , how can you go wrong! think you will be happy you got it too! I’m likely to get one too but man, I’m cranking my class A tube with just gain and reverb with my Gibson SG all day doing licks ! I mean there is nothing I need right now! thinking to get one though for summer travels and the software will be interesting with all them effects and recording features..plus a built in tuner! btw great showcase you did in jan challenge johan

I considered the Yamaha but chose the Blackstar ID Core 20 – very versatile practice amp and mush less money than the Yamaha. The stereo effect that this amp puts out is amazing; I’m sold on Blackstar products

Mark I was wondering why you would mic the thr when you can usb it to your DAW?
The portability of them is terrifc and they are certianly powerful enough for my practice use. They have a good choice of features too. Clearly your fender suits your needs.
All the best

I did choose between the Blackstar Core v2 and the Yamaha.
I felt the Yamaha might be better suited for my day to day sound I wish to achieve using my Les Paul Standard.Well now that this is done I might need to get myself a proper tube amp + cabinet and a BOSS GT-1 as well in the near future. And then I only have to find a band for that to make any sense! 🙂

JohnStratI was referring to mic’ing a different amp, not the THR10C. I recently bought a Deluxe Reverb and it really has an incredible sound. The point I was making was justifying using a separate interface over using the THR10C’s USB connectivity to act as its own interface (you can’t run a mic for vocals or to mic an amp into it).

I find THR10C very versatile – I’ve played guitar, bass, harp, sang, used it as speakers, played it at camp fires …
Just keep some AAs on hand and you are good to go 🙂

I think it is an excellent amplifier to study, very appropriate for the genres that this website has courses. It has a very good computer editor with many possibilities, very versatile. If you want more power, you can connect studio monitors in the headphone jack.

It arrived today! I haven’t hooked it up to any computer yet, I just started playing it using both my Les Paul Standard and my Fender Pm-2 acoustic!
Out of the box it’s a very competent piece of kit! I especially like the “Deluxe” tone! The LP sounds beautiful using that with pretty low gain and only some reverb. Hooked up my iPhone and jammed a bit with some backing tracks as well as with Brian by playing his videos from the site!
One thing I noticed was that when I used my Sennheiser Momentum headphones, the actual sound differed quite a lot from the tone when using the amp. I’ll have to try and record something through USB to see what the result will be then.
Now I’m just waiting for the BOSS RC-30 and the BOSS GT-1, and the fun can start in earnest!
But my first impression was a really good one! This looks like the start of a beautiful friendship! 😉

Johan That is great news. Its a powerful little beast as you have discovered. Its not perfect but its shortcomings are very minor relative to its pluses. Will really look forward to your using it. If You have a BD2 and an Tube screamer do try them hooked up with a little spring reverb and slapback through the acoustic setting. It gets me a full on Blues tone.
