Is there a way to play the video tablature in the weekly lessons with only the backing track, i.e., without Brian’s guitar part? I find it easier to play along with the video tablature than to use the accompanying “minus guitar” mp3 backing tracks with the pdf tab. (I tried searching for the answer to this but didn’t have any luck.)
Thank you!

The short answer is no. That would be a nice feature but outside of Brian’s control because the interactive tablature is a 3rd party app by Soundslice.
One workaround would be to invest in Guitar Pro 8 software, copy the lesson notation, download the mp3 track and play along. You would be able to mute the solo notes and only hear the mp3 jamtrack. Not a fast solution and if you’re not familiar with online tabbing it could be a nightmare.
Or you could play the mp3 track on your phone with headphones on and watch the moving tablature on your computer screen with muted audio?

Jeffrey,
If I recall correctly Brian used to have the Soundslice tab with the backing track minus guitar. Adding Brian`s guitar was a huge asset to help perfect the timing.
Once I have the timing I take the backing mp3 and put it in my DAW where I can adjust the tempo and gradually increase it. I put two computer monitors on my desk so I can use playback on the DAW and keep the Soundslice tab open also, best thing I ever did.

It was the other way round, John 🙂
The Soundslice tabs were solo guitar only until it was suggested that the backing track should be included there too and Brian agreed.🎸JoLa
