An interesting trip thru musical history that tracks the advent
        of the guitar riff.

Great story, many thanks for the posting GnLguy. As a young teenager, listening to Chuck Berry blew me away. I could not believe the power and drive he and his band created from the simple shuffle. I played in a covers band in those days and we always opened the set with Johnnie B Goode or Little Queenie, it guaranteed to set the night off to a great start. Not sure whether I should say this out loud but I’m the only person I know that bought a 12 inch vinyl of Link Ray’s Rumble. Sad or what ……

I had heard it before but the first time Jonnie B Goode really hit me was in 1966. Our band was backstage getting ready to play at our high school dance and it came on the PA system. That was a moment I’ll never forget. Thanks for the post!

Good post Keith. Thanks for posting.

The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete

It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. 🙂 6 stringer Pete
