This is very cool from Ik Multimedia. It’s a hand held mic you plug into your iPad or iPhone. Example, point camera from iPhone at you playing and the mic near whats playing.

Digital product technology come and go so dang fast! This is why I put more emphasis into practicing and learning guitar.. I truly believe my camera blu vivo 5 xl has Good enough HD and sound for my showcase.. I really would like to advance my recording setup eventually but don’t see the advantage investing in cameras or audio when in a matter of months or years something smaller better more portable/user friendly (easier to use) etc. makes the stuff of old obsolete after awhile! happen with the 35mm cameras etc.

I haven’t tested it myself. This is a newer model just released, this Mic has been around for a couple of years.
Yea, I know what you mean John. I have a couple of expensive cameras that never will get any more use because of age of the equipment. My phone is my main camera now. lol

I’m sold. I’ll be getting one of those. I have a Shure MV88 which plugs directly into iPhones, but sometimes I’d like to get the mic closer to my guitar. I want to do some acoustic recordings outside, but I don’t want to have to carry my laptop, Focusrite 2i2, etc outside. Thanks for posting this.
