        What do these symbols mean in tab:

          Those are note values and rest values, same as used in standard notation

          1st circled indicates that its an eighth note
          2nd circled indicates a dotted quarter note
          3rd circled indicates an eight rest
          4th circled indicates a quarter rest

          I printed a page from the internet for a reference that has the symbols
