We test quiz in this video on which you think sounds like carbon fibre or wood acoustic guitars.
The wooden guitar has a wedge shape giving more depth than it’s size would suggest see end of video...

I have that very same carbon fiber guitar. My conclusion: The bass and mid-range notes are way better than average, but the treble notes are not as bright as my wood acoustics. Also, the pickups sound really muddy, totally useless, really. So I have to mic it whenever I want to record. Still, it’s now my favorite guitar for the same reasons he noted.

Hi Sunjamr I found it hard to tell which was correct answer at times quite often wood guitars with cutouts do not sound as good as the same wood guitar without a cutout but the carbon fibre cutout appears to work better there being less material needed to construct the cutout than wood.
Possibly the price of carbon guitars may come down over time plus they might find ways to improve the sound.

Sunjamr might be worth contacting Journeyman maybe in the years since you bought they may have updated the pickups, Jay Howie says he uses his on stage and recording sessions

I did indeed contact Journey Guitars, and they suggested I take it to my local dealer here in New Zealand. However, the local dealer (who I know very well) hasn’t yet imported any, and has no clue. Nevermind, my condenser mic works just fine for recording. I think I might make a video comparing mic vs pickup, since New Zealand is now in total lockdown for at least a couple of weeks and I have plenty of spare time.
