Rev Gary Davis was blind street preacher in NYC that happened to be a phenom guitar player. His style encompassed.Delta Blues, Piedmont Blues, Ragtime and a touch of jazz. The syncopation of his picking style was remarkable

Not only a preacher of the gospel, he taught guitar to a few people that went on to gain some notoriety after Davis passed away – people like Stephen Stills, Bob Weir, Jorma Kaukonen, Stefan Grossman to name a few.
