If any of you have ever tried to remove one or more of the knobs on your split-shaft potentiometers, you probably found out they’re on pretty dang tight!
They of course make a special tool for that…but you don’t need it.
You can take a soft, thin cloth and slide it in under the knob. Once you’ve gone all the way around it, give the cloth a little twist and then pull up! And she’ll pull right off as you’ll be applying even pressure all the way around the knob.
(This of course does not work in the knob has a set screw in it!)
Hopefully this will be useful to someone.

Thanks. Hope I remember that next time I have to pull one off.

I ve had some cheaper electric guitars that the pot shaft has broken before the knob comes off
so be careful and have a good reason for taking them off in the 1st place
