Anyone doing this successfully. Watched some really good videos on it that pointed me
in right direction.
So far I have been successful in recording dry signal into DAW along with processed signal.
To do get dry signal recorded just set input 5 has input on separate track. Pretty easy.Difficulty in routing DAW output back to HX stomp and then back into DAW for rerecording.
To do this I have S1 output set to 5 (I think), input in HX Stomp set to USB 5/6 and input for targeted DAW track set to input 1.Setup exactly as recommended in this video but not working for some reason.
Any ideas on what to check?Tx in advance

Hey Marc, that’s quite an interesting and complicated pedal. I had not heard of it before, so I checked in with the Line 6 website to educate myself. My head is still spinning.
I have a Scarlett 2i2 which allows 2 inputs where each input can be sent to a separate track in any DAW. So to record direct input plus input with mic or effects simultaneously, it’s easy. But I used to invite a couple of friends over for some jamming, and I wanted to record each of us simultaneously onto a separate track. So I had to upgrade my Scarlett to an 8i8, which has 4 inputs for instruments. Sounds like you can do something similar with the HX Stomp, true?
But what I don’t understand is why you would need to route your DAW output into the HX, then back into the DAW. First of all, that must introduce huge latency into the process and make it difficult to do simultaneous recordings onto separate tracks. Do I understand your recording process correctly?

Hi Steve,
I was looking at this too but don’t know the HX stomp pedal.
I think what Marc is trying to do is apply a different amp/effects to a signal that was previously recorded dry with no amp/effects. So, play the dry signal from the DAW out to the pedal, let it do its thing and record the new wet signal back in the DAW?
All that would be post recording so latency wouldn’t matter.
It gives you the option of playing with tones post recording.
I used to do this when I was using software but it was easy as everything was in the DAW. It sounds like some very specific wiring would be required.

Thanks for input guys.
Yes, theoretically it can be done with no latency. And I don’t think that has been an issue.
The idea is rerecord saved dry signal with new or different effects applied in the HX stomp.“I think what Marc is trying to do is apply a different amp/effects to a signal that was previously recorded dry with no amp/effects. Andy, Yes that’s exactly what I am trying to do. I really think it’s some type of setting in DAW that is not correct.
The audio interface on the HX stomp has processed signal on USB 1/2 and dry signal on 5/6.
Since original post I did get something looping but it was not pleasant and there was some type of loop producing a lot of noise. LOL. -

Hey Marc, I’ve not reamped using my Helix, but another option to look into is that as a Helix owner, you can buy their Helix Native plugin for a reasonable price (used to be $99 here in the States). Then you have access to the full range of Helix sounds as a plugin to your DAW. That method always struck me as being a little less finicky than the reamping process.
