I used to always check the action on my guitars by the old tried and true method of measuring the distance between the top of the fret and the bottom of each string for all 6 strings before I bought an understring radius guage tool.
If you have one of these tools not only does it ensure that the strings/bridge match the fretboard radius but by doing so you are also adjusting the string height for each string to match the radius tool.
So for Fender/Squier guitars with a f/board radius of 9.5″ the tool makes it pretty easy to get the bridge radius correct and of course the string heights. These understring f/board radius tools come in a pack so cover all the common f/board radius sizes for all guitars.

I have a set of mutli radius gauges which is really handy. I also made myself a set of gauges using this PDF .. DOWNLOAD FROM JUMPSHARE.. I transferred the shapes to plastic( I cut down 2ltr milk containers)and keep them as a back up for string and fret board radius on guitars or bass..
Great thread Tim, I love tools and stuff..

Billy,
Hey, great idea and some Scottish ingenuity there.
