Hi, this site looks like it’s got lots of great lessons. Is there any progression of lessons? I discovered the site through a free video lesson on Youtube (Connect simple fill licks to the E, A, and D chord shapes – Play in ANY key! – EP464). Is there any way to know what lessons would be best to lead up to that one, and what’s best to do next after it? Thanks.

Recommend you do the Courses early on. That will quickly get you on the same page. Don’t get bogged-down though, if something doesn’t compute right away go back to it later. The Courses are available by clicking on Weekly Lessons > Start Here, the blue button at the top of the page.
At the same time, start diving into lessons that you think might interest you. Use the search function and keyword selection buttons liberally on the Weekly Lessons page to zoom-in on lesson topics.
Basically, everyone is different so Brian has set it up in such a way that you get to define your own learning path, pretty much how the majority of us learned to play guitar in the first place, but on steroids. Just get the basics down so the terms are understood, fill in the gaps in your existing knowledge and work out from there. Worked for me, good luck.

Hi Greg, There is no progression or sequential order to do lessons as participants are at different entry levels and just jump in and partake of the many lessons available. This forum is a good place to ask questions and get help from others with your journey. Brian does recommend 3 courses as a pre-requisite before doing the Weekly Lessons to get familiar with the concepts discussed in the lesson material. You’ll find that through the START HERE button at the top of the Weekly Lessons page or go to My Account/Courses. As your goal is to work towards EP464 which is a Call & Response, with fill licks using E,A,D. VG34 is a good starting point. This lesson is not easy to find as it is located between Ep431 and Ep432, so just type VG34 in the search bar to find it (see pic below). Some of the MicroLessons are good starters to help towards Ep464 as follows ML052- Call and Response Blues, ML046 Easy Rhythm and 2 Easy Fill Licks, ML044 Easy Fill Licks over G and C Chords, ML005 – 1.4.5 progression using the E Shape including Fill Licks. As regards to beyond Ep464, you may know what direction you want to go. Spend time just navigating around the site to get yourself acquainted with the type of lessons on offer. Otherwise the forum is always here for the next stage if you need help,

I must say that Brian’s site is the best I’ve found anywhere. I jump all around the lessons depending on what hits me any given day. I particularly love the Blues lessons. And I really admire Brian’s teaching methods.
