I don’t need a new guitar, no, I really don’t. We have acoustic and electric guitars, ukuleles and bass guitars. Even an Oskar Schmidt autoharp. But still ….
my fingers are itching. Namely a Parlor guitar from the Irish company Emerald Guitars. They make carbon fiber guitars that are just beautiful to my taste.
Do you have Parlor guitars? Do you play them or are they just sitting around because they didn’t meet your expectations? I have problems with my left hand. That’s why I’m hoping for easy playability on barre chords.
They have special offers right now and an x7 is the object of desire.
I realize this is a luxury problem, but whatever
what’s your opinion. Thanks in advance for your comment.Werner
PS: I don´t want to publish a commercial URL – but search for Emerald Guitars

I’m afraid you’ll have to make the decision yourself; especially if you have problems with your hand. Not only the size of the guitar plays a role here, but the shape of the neck. So which form is best for you? The neck width is also decisive for this. Is it more comfortable for your hand to play with a wide neck (see Lakewood, nut width 46-48mm) or rather with a narrow neck (about 42mm). It is absolutely individual. I would check that first and then (the best way), after such a preliminary decision, play the object of your desire yourself. In most cases there is a right of return. I wish you success!
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

I’ve had the opportunity to play two carbon fiber guitars over the years. Both were made by RainSong, both were smallish body with cutaways, maybe OM size, but quite deep. I really enjoyed playing both of them.
The thing about both instruments that blew me away was how responsive they were. They kick back at you like the proverbial mule, you really feel like they’re a part of you. That’s a great thing in my book, you can quickly get into a positive feedback loop with such an instrument.
My immediate thoughts were that since they’re impervious to moisture, if I was super rich and owned a classy boat I’d keep a couple on board for jamming on the back deck while towing lures! I used to go game fishing & diving a lot in NZ

I’ve had my eyes on Emerald guitars for a while. Everything I’ve heard from, and about, the company has been excellent. Jim Soloway, an excellent guitarist who posts at The Gear Page, likes his Emeralds, which he got because the climate where he lives doesn’t treat wooden acoustics well. Here’s a video of him playing his X7, which is their parlor model:
