I was inspired to share this one by the recent discussion on women who had done extra-ordinary things:

        https://www.broadjam.com/artists/songs.php?artistID=106837&mediaID=755148

The music and production on this one all accomplished by another musician friend, Kris Baldwin of Canada.
He is also the author of the song. I was honored to add my vocals to this tribute to one of my heroes.

This is outstanding work Marie, you are a rare talent that’s evident. Your music on broadjam and Copperdogmusic is a joy to discover. Like Rain and Ghost Within My Mind I especially enjoyed and I’m guessing are original compositions. Keep up the great music.

            Bonsoir Martyn,
Merci Beaucoup – for your kind words.
Yes, “Like Rain” and “Ghost Within My Mind” are my original songs. The production work on “Like Rain” with the lead guitar etc., behind my vocal parts were done by a friend. It was my first attempt at writing a song with a Latin-like focus.

“Ghost Within My Mind” is also my original song and all of the music and production are my own work as entry into the world of music production. Written in the month of October, it was a fun challenge to come up with a ‘ghostly’ sound for this tune. I’m really thrilled that you found this one appealing!!
Thank you. Music is my passion.

My great-grandfather originated in Marsailles, France and as I understand relocated to Nova Scotia with his dad.
Later as an adult, he made his way to Louisiana. He married a Choctaw woman and the rest is my history. :0)

            Happy to know you,
            Marie

Your voice work is outstanding Marie and with a portfolio established you are using your gift and doing what you love. I just had to listen to Jolene, you nailed it.

                  Laurel, Thank you so much.
Jolene was a lot of fun to work on but also one that I’d shied away from doing for a long time. One of my all time favorites, Dolly Pardon’s talent is hard to compete with. And Jolene was such an iconic song. I really almost didn’t complete this one – I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
As much as I love expressing myself with music – it’s very rewarding to hear from folks who actually enjoy the presentation of it. A responsive audience is half the musical equation!
                  Thank you,
                  Marie

Very impressive Marie. You and your musical partner have made some wonderful recordings. ‘Wayfaring Stranger’ and ‘Diamonds And Rust’, were two of my favorites. Your vocals are excellent. 🙂

                      James,
Your words are music to my ears!
Making music is so very satisfying when it comes out right, especially when others find enjoyment in it.

                      Thank you,
                      Marie
