Well, I am back with this month’s challenge after missing Aug and Sept. Funny how time just slips away sometimes…. Anyhow, I picked the key of A from lesson EP219. Actually had quite a bit of fun monkeying around trying to come up with something that was worthy. Collings 290 straight into a Fender Deluxe Reverb Tonemaster. Thanks for stopping by and listening.

That’s some sweet playing David. A nice slower shuffle feel, laid back and sitting in the pocket.

Hi David, great melodic solo. I was lost in the vibe, in a wonderful way. Really enjoyable!

Nice and relaxed and musical David. Nice use of those chromatic runs too.

Very nice and relaxed lead, David, I liked it!
Thanks for bringing back that old lesson’s backing track, it reminded me of my early Active Melody days. Your composition worked with it very well. Too bad the guitar did not wanna stay in one spot, though – it just kept slipping away, didn’t it? 😉🎸JoLa

Your monkeying around was really very effective, David. And your performance, full of feeling and grace, envelops the listener in such a pleasant feeling. I enjoyed it very much.

Liking that laid back style David , you packed a lot into that area of fretboard also like the use of chromatic movement , and sliding into phrases , the confinement is definitely a great exercise.

Nicely played, David. You came up with a great melody that fit the jam track beautifully. Great laid back vibe.

Monkeying around is pretty much what I did, too, while working on this challenge, I feel you!
But your result is very cool, melodic, relaxing, I like it a lot!
Thank you,

Very nice slow Blues playing with these changes. I love that relaxed vibe. I like that move at 1:14.
Pleasant to listen.

They say given enough monkeying you will get Shakespeare so why not a cool, laid back blues as you just proved. Flowed beautifully through changes. Enjoyed listening to that 👌

David
Love your arrangement, solo the whole nine yards. You utilized the ‘blue notes’ and ‘out of the box’ notes very nicely. I’m not surprised that you are using a Deluxe Reverb Reissue-no wonder you were getting such fantastic tone.John
