This is an Eastman acoustic made in China Adirondack spruce top solid mahogany back and sides $ 1,2817 in USD it has a large blob of glue inside the edge of the sound hole and a fault with wood sticking out so looks like glue used to cover this up, also white glue has been used to fill a gap at the tenon join between neck and body, glue blobs and smears on body everywhere, the pick guard is see through to the glue holding it on I sent the photos attached to the shop saying I considered this a second asking if they could get Eastman to replace it.

Eastman factory replied to the shop that they couldn’t comment on what had happened in the sound hole but they said they do not see an issue with the guitar; the shop sales man said every single handcrafted guitar will have these issues.

I’ve seen Sigma’s in this price range that were better built you could get a Larrivee for a bit more cash.

Would you class this a second and overpriced?

I would not accept that as a guitar in new condition especially at a $1200 price. I bet you would not find that in a Alverez at half the price. If I had payed for that and it arrived in that state I would return it and seek a total refund including the cost of return I would say it should not pass inspection and ought not to be sent out like that. You could send the pictures to the company CEO if the salesman plays up. I presume you have a right of refund!

Oh dear, I wouldn’t be happy with that either. I would have sent that straight back.

Wow, what sloppy work those people did. Hopefully you can give it back and get a refund.
