…been listening to Muddy Waters Folk Singer; Chess LPS-1483. Quality Record Pressings. I love not only the quality of the recording but the acoustic guitar work of Muddy and a young Buddy Guy.

I’m going to work on the Muddy Waters lesson(s). Can anyone recommend other lessons that capture this style playing?

        Thanks so much

          Hey Maholl50,
There’s so many lessons it’s hard to keep track. But I remember spending several weeks on the ‘Muddy’ lessons and still not mastering it. You’ve got your work cut out for you. The timing was my issue. Good luck with it and play it for us when you’re ready.

            Nice-looking guitars!

Thanks to Keith (GnLGuy), I have this playlist handy for anyone curious about the album.

Did you search the lessons for “Muddy Waters”? Just wondering which ones you’re calling the Muddy Waters lessons. I got 5 results with that search and one was a Keith Richards lesson, but I know there are other lessons in E that have chords and licks that sound like they’re from or used in traditional Delta blues (I don’t have them organized so I could tell you what they are off the top, but if you have the time, sample the sound files to the blues in E).

Here’s my quick selection of blues in E with licks/concepts I think you may find useful (I definitely may have missed some you would choose):

                LEG005

                LEG006

                EP037

EP058 (“Catfish”-style riffs, you’d need to treat them different from the lesson, but where you’ll put your fingers is the same).

                EP065

EP097 (again the sound is different but the licks will be useful)

                EP111

                EP145 (after the intro)

                EP213 & EP214 (Muddy Waters lessons)

                EP238?

                Don D.
