First some good news. Jontavious Willis is working on his second album, which will be produced by Keb’ Mo’ (separate links in each name). Congratulations to both of them, can’t wait to hear it.
This week, Jontavious selected Lurrie Bell as the person deserving our attention. He’s someone whose music I’ve posted here a few times (in fact, I’d posted “Reconsider Baby” [below] at least once before, but it’s so good, it’s got to be the one to post.
Lurrie Bell, son of blues harmonica legend Carey Bell , is one of the strongest guitarists playing today and an inheritor of the Chicago blues legacy.
He’s made so much great music , I’ve started a playlist (something I’ve been wanting to do anyway). Also, here’s a link to the computer-generated YouTube channel.
I’ve got to lead off with his version of Lowell Fulson’s “Reconsider Baby,” Geneva Blues Summit, Switzerland, November 4, 2006. I’ve gotten so much juice out of this video and it continues to inspire me—hope you like it.
Here’s the beginnings of a full-scale playlist, leading off with some killer live tracks; albums and concerts are at the end. I’ll be adding to it and updating it.
I apologize for the shortness of this post. I’ve been working a lot of hours with very little downtime. Fortunately, tomorrow’s Blues Roots has been ready for some time.

To find out where Jontavious is playing, check his website (link in first mention of his name at top). His debut album, Blue Metamorphosis, can also be found there. Here’s my playlist of his music, including three videos I was present to make, but subscribe to his channel to keep up-to-date.
