When I say songs, I mean lessons Brian has done on songs in the public domain. The “Amazing Grace” arrangement is a good example. Is there a way to search for songs like this? I’m wanting to learn more chord melody arrangements on songs people recognize immediately. Also I’d like to be able to search back through the years for his most popular lessons by style. Thanks in advance for any tips.

Freddie,
After four years, I kinda learned where everything is just by searching. In fact, I have a harder time keeping track of the newer material. When you open up lessons, on the left margin I believe it is, you will notice categories i.e rockabilly, country, blues etc etc. Try that. Also, the more you look, (it’s like a book store) you learn where what you want is. I now can find certain licks or phrases that I might want to use in something I write. Believe me, your memory will guide you to the right place. You just have to set some time aside and look about the close to 500 lessons. It’s a lot of fun. In fact, I spend a lot of time searching for that lost lesson that might change the trajectory of your guitar journey. Let me know how it goes. Good luck.John

Hi Freddie,
A couple of short cuts for you:-
261 is one, it is ST Jamse Infirmary. There are the annual Christmas tunes such as Greensleeves 232 and Silent Night 128
By and Large Brian has avoided covers to escape copyright constraints but there is a BB thrill is gone 078 variant and a Key to the highway 129 amongst others. I suspect Lola may have a listing she may reply to this.

Hi Freddie,
Just to add on what has been covered, you will find that the Lesson Categories tab will have the different styles available (Ballad, Boogie Woogie, Rockabilly etc). It also has an Artist Series in the style of, where you will find 90 results of different players such as ep086 Bo Diddley’s shuffle and lead. You will find the Christmas Songs list also here in the Lesson Categories that are public domain. Brian has a channel on YouTube called Active Melody Songs where you find different cover songs he has done in the past. Have attached a handout which includes the Public Domain songs on this site and the cover songs available on the Active Melody Songs YouTube channel. As far as the search for the most popular songs by style, the amount of views on YouTube can give a good indication of popularity.Updated pdf has EP448 : Shady Grove – 2 levels of difficulty.
