Go to the AM Lesson that you want the backing track for. Click on Download MP3 on the backing track area. It will start playing on your Ipad. Click on the 3 vertical dots beside the volume(speaker) symbol. A message saying Download will pop up. Click on it and another screen appears where you can save it to your computer.

Hi James.
Thanks for your reply. Does not work for me— I start the MP3- but the only volume control I have is in on top of the Ipad— there are no 3 verticals dots to press – am I missing something? You say “save it to your computer” but I am using an Ipad. Where am I going wrong.
Thanks

Hi Snakechisler—- no goood— Ipad does not have a “save as” function. I do
not have a computer — my tablet is an Apple iPad Air 2. When I press and hold the highlighted MP3- nothing. Are you able to do this on your Ipad —-not a computer? Thanks

I have an iPad Air too but I don’t use it much for guitar stuff. I know what you’re saying about the”save as” function…there isn’t one. When I do download a track I save mine to Dropbox. But you need to download the app to your iPad.

I do it the easy way. I connect my looper pedal that has memory for 200 different loops to my computer. Start the backing track, let it play one verse then stomp the Looper pedal and record the 2nd verse of the track and stomp it again. Save it to the loopers memory. Then I have a document that I edit to write down which ep backing track is on which memory number on my looper pedal. Much more portable and easy then carrying a laptop or ipad around in order to have a backing track.

iPads are not capable of directly downloading music files, other than those you buy from the iTunes Store. You need a computer (preferably a Mac of some kind) to do this.

I’m thankful I don’t have an Ipad. I don’t know anything about them, but seems like they are just very large cellphone without the ability to make phone calls. Lol

Hi James
Mmmm- I guess I might have to buy a computer! Out of interest James what looper do you have—- I have been looking at the Boss RC 30. Seems a good way to go.Still no answer to how to save AM MP3 files to an ipad—- perhaps there is no answer -it cannot be done.

It is a Digitech JamMan Solo XT. Unless you have a computer though I don’t know if an Ipad has a port for the cable to connect them together.

AcidWas doing it from my Android phone so expected apple to be similar after checking its not, Apple is a closed system to which only the mighty Apple Corp gets to decide how yo access your tunes.
Apparently the only way is through a 3rd party app such as google drive or drop box.
For MP3’s you need to load it to Itunes to be able to play it
Sorry its complicated

Hi Acid
I have a PC that I use for almost everything related to guitar. But I also have an iPad, like yours. I use it for almost everything else except guitar stuff.
But when I do, like I said, I save all tracks to Dropbox. I hold down on the track I want to download. After it loads and starts to play I hit the square box with an arrow pointing upward on the right hand side of the screen. Right beside the + sign. This opens up a bunch of options to download, one is “save to Dropbox”. If you have the Dropbox app on your iPad it should automatically pop up. Hit that and it’ll automatically takes you to a Dropbox save dialoguge box.

Hi Acid,
I have just tried this out on my iPad 2
Go to the lesson you want, then click the line ‘Download MP3’
The MP3 will automatically load on to your screen, now click the symbol, which looks like square with an arrow pointing upwards. (Top right on your. Screen)
A separate dialogue box then opens scroll the lower icons left until you see a sign ‘Save to Home Screen’ click that one, but change the title to EP XXX (the title No of the lesson) then click to save.
The backing track will then appear as an Icon on one of your Home Screens,
You then can shuffle these icons around or consolidate into one area to suit your preference.Hope this helps…
Richard
