Hi all, I will be visiting Nashville ( Mar 31- Apr 2 )for the first time in 5 years. Can anybody suggest some good guitar stores to check out while I am there. Also, tips on some ‘out of the way’ place to just listen to some of the local Acoustic masters.
I am not sure which guitar I want. I own a Martin D28 which gives a great beautiful bright sound. I am looking for a sound that is a little deeper. I have thought about a Gibson J35 or hummingbird. Any suggestions would be very welcome. thanks, Warren -

As far as the honky-tonks, just walk up and down Broadway and you will see 100’s of clubs with incredibly talented musicians. None of these are out of the way. One isn’t necessarily better than the other, just different. A lot of the places sponsor old time country and western, modern country and a lot of southern rock style music. Mostly, young kids trying to get the call into the major leagues so to speak. One of my favorite clubs was Loser’s. You will be like a baby in a candy store. Have fun.

Hi Warren,
I was in Nashville last week and bought a guitar at the Gibson Garage. They were awesome if your looking to by an Epiphone, Kramer or Gibson. There’s so much to see! It’s like guitar porn really. I asked a similar question (in another thread) to yours before we left. I was told that Gruhn’s Guitars and Carter Vintage Guitars are two go to stores.
As far as clubs go, I can’t give much of an opinion. We walked down Broadway but its not my kind of vibe. Too many drunk people. Maybe you can find a quiet place. We found the Legendary Milkshake Bar. Yum! Nashville as a whole is a great city, but I prefer Beale Street in Memphis for music.
Have fun!
