Brian, you had mentioned that Taylor guitar is your lest favor. Any particular reason. And lastly was model of Martin acoustic guitar with the sunburst color are you playing. Thanks

          Hi Robert,
I’m not sure why Brian wasn’t too crazy about his Taylor guitar but I think that maybe he prefers smaller parlor sized acoustics which he has mostly played. His Martin parlor model is CEO-7.

I have a Taylor parlor (GS Mini) and a Martin parlor, and the Taylor neck is slightly thinner and easier for me to play. But for a direct input into a DAW, the Martin’s pickup gives a slightly better result than the Taylor’s. However, plugged into an amp, they both sound remarkably similar.

I was just curious as to why Brian had mentioned that the Taylor he was using was his least favorite guitar. Because I was looking into. Buying a Taylor 712E model. I have taken a hard look at the Martin CEO-7 guitar.

I think that was back when he had the Taylor with fret markers for lessons but the Alvarez was a parlor he liked more but with no markers. Or visa versa. His newer guitars sound awesome. I think the Taylor line gets way better with their American made series which I believe are 300 series and up. Have you played the 712E? It should be great. I would have to put my hands all over any guitar before buying. Then you’ll know if it has to come home with you!

I’ve found that there is not a lot of tonal difference in any of the Taylors regardless of model. However, they make beautiful guitars.
