          Hi John,

That was really nice playing! Great job of staying with the rhythm track and keeping in time. Good tone and balance, the guitar voice was not to loud so the backing track was still clear. Lastly, good phrasing. You played a lot of notes but you also had some nice breaks. It’s so easy to overplay and try and fill all the holes with notes, you inserted space between phrases and that really helped the tune. Very pleasant to listen to.

Thanks Jim for the kind words. I haven’t posted in a while, haven’t had time to learn something new, so I thought I would dust off and oldie from another instructional source and post it… it needs a little work but for the most part it’s passable. Yes, this is an arrangement that lends itself to breaks and maybe not overplaying. Keep on!

Bravo!!! That was just perfect John.
The groove, the timing and your solos were really cool.
You played it in a very calm and relaxed way.
It was a pleasure to watch your work with your left hand.
You just have it. Very well done. It was fun to listen to you.

Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

BYCU is the book that got me started on my Blues journey. Great book and nice playing, John.

Thanks guys… Blues You Can Use is a great series… I find myself going back to it. What we do here at Active Melody is a nice bridge from the first BYCU book to More Blues You Can Use. The BYCU series is not easy! It does however, provide a lifetime of licks, lessons and solos. Big fun!

Awesome groove. Love everything you poured into this, great technique-cool solo. Haven’t heard of the series, but I’m gonna check it out.
