Fingers will not stretch!!!???

Hi
I’m just starting to learn the acoustic guitar. When trying to play scales I am unable to simultaneously place my fingers over all the relative frets in readiness to play the notes and walk them up and down the strings. ie my fingers will just not span the frets. I read that it is largely down to practice …… practice ……practice but would like to know if there’s more I can do to increase the span of my fingers. I don’t want to invest in lessons if I am not able to acquire a fundamental and essential skill.

I hate to say this but there is no miracle cure, its just down to practice, The more you do it the better you will get, Keep at it you will get there….
