Hi John,
Try uploading that file to Youtube. You can then post the link in the text box on the forum.

Hi Bryce thanks for coming back you wont be missing much if i don’t get it up because I have over cooked it tonight and it just got worse as I tried to nail it!! LOL.. I don’t use any of the social media stuff so I haven’t a clue how to go about your youtube fix. I did get a drop box account would that work in the same way and can it be kept to access only via active melody forum? Please don’t worry if you don’t know the answer. What video files will load directly here do you know?

I will be missing much! I will be missing your post! I want to see it. Attaching the video file to the forum directly usually does not work unless it is really low quality. The file would have to be under 5.86 MB.
All you have to do to get a youtube account is sign up for one. It is free. If you have a gmail account already you can sign into youtube with the same credentials.
Once logged in in the upper right hand corner is an “upload” button.
If you are uploading from a smart phone or a tablet you can watch this video on how to use the youtube app I made: https://www.activemelody.com/forums/topic/how-to-upload-your-video-from-your-tablet-or-phone-using-the-youtube-app/
If you need more help John just let me know. Youtube is really the route to go for posting videos online.

Hi Bryce thanke for the help. Its late in the uk 1am so am hitting the sack now. Not too keen to use you tube so i will see if drop box can do it first. For me its the big brother thing. I use duckduckgo highly recomended search engine with a fantastic ethos.

Nice job, John.Congratulations on your first post. For all your submission problems, it was a nice video with good audio quality. That’s a cool strat. It’s not your typical American Standard. It looks like a 21 fret, vintage variety. Is it a reissue?

Hi Charjo yes its a 63 21 fret. I bought it 1971 and only got to power chord standard. Sat in the case for 30 years’ when i lucked upon this site. So am having another go.

A 1963 Strat! What the heck is that worth. I would love to go back to 1971 for many reasons, but especially to start this guitar journey a little earlier. My sister gave me a book called, “A Strat in the Attic” about collectible guitars like yours that were case bound for decades.

@JohnStrat, please disregard my earlier question. Not appropriate for a public forum.

Hi John,
Mr strat with a great strat t echo John’s earlier comment. Great to get your post uploaded and you’ll find only lost of enjoyable learning to pick up your playing again.
You stuck with the lesson and worked through the glitches, so onwards and upwards, looking forward to seeing future postings. This was a tricky one for your first attempt and welcome to AM.
Cheers Bri

Hi Bryce thanks for posting the link and the support. I might update to a YouTube account in due course but at least that got me started. I think your Challenges help all those who partake in their learning so well done for all your efforts. I have tended to cherry pick from the fantastic selection of Brian’s AM site so to knuckle down to a specific tune is a good thing. I believe I can play a much smoother rendition and will look to update when I get it sorted.
Thanks
John Strat
