I’m starting to practise/learn this lesson, all going well until I reached the F9, going by the tab it is 8878( sorry, don’t know how to write it on forum)and it is sounding flat or out of tune, is this the way it is supposed to sound or am I doing ( yet again) something wrong?..

Top to bottom 8788 with the outer strings muted should sound pretty sweet.
To clarify, low E string muted, or not played. A or fifth string 8th fret. D or 4th string 7th fret. G or third string 8th fret. B or second string 8th fret. E or first string muted or not played in this example but can be played at the 8th fret and still be a 9th.
The root is an F note found at the fifth string 8th fret.
Thanks for that Richard, I had it worked out that I needed to mute both E strings or indeed just play the ADGB strings while you were answering my question…
Thanks again.

Good luck with 139, it looks challenging.
