Haven’t played with a pick in a while, and I found this more challenging than I thought it would be. This one is definitely more abandoned than finished, but here’s what I got, once again with ridiculous recording button jitters:

Jitters or not that was some mighty fine playing Duffy! I like the sound of that guitar. I also enjoyed that ending walk up you created. Good job!

Duffy, even if it wasn’t as polished as your high standards would dictate, the high quality of your playing always shows through. I enjoyed those extended runs you added.

Hi Duffy, that was great, didn’t notice any jitters and you really made it your own. Not as easy to play this on an acoustic, well not for me anyway but you made it more than work
Cheers

No flies on that, Duffy. You just need to upgrade your video and audio equipment. You had some good stuff in your interpretation of it.

Got some nice swing’n going on there.
The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete
It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. 🙂 6 stringer Pete

Sounded very nice from my end, I would love to get to that skill level and still think its a work in progress. Nice to hear it played on an acoustic.

Duffy
very well done. The idea of A guitar to play is awesome. Brilliant Timing and great Sound.
What is this for a guitar?Wilfried
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.

yes, I have to agree, not a thing wrong with that.. good job! Did you try it with out a pick? If you are more comfortable without the pick, give it a try..
Don't practice till you get it right, practice till you can't get it wrong.

I especially like the rhythmic nature of your interpretation…..Sounded like a classic acoustic blues piece with a thumping beat to it….Very nicely done! Loved hearing it on acoustic….

Hi Duffy and you hit a tempo which is probably the adrenaline rush from pressing the record button!
But you really kept this moving and confidently kept the groove and I like to see the body language also drive the playing, that’s putting everything into it. Also agree this is a totally more challenging tune on acoustic, so really well done.
I just watched Sol’s posting and repeat a comment that I used with him; we’re our own worst critics!
Also you did some clever trick with a mirror for that recording?

Thanks for the kind comments, guys.
Bri-lefty – Yes, I recorded it with my iPad pointed at a large mirror I have in our sunroom. I recorded it out there because it has a terrazzo floor, which has the effect of turning the reverb up to about 15.
Music-AMG – Yes, I play it without a pick. Finger style changes it, but doesn’t add anything in particular. Just makes it quieter and probably a little slower. Some things are just better with a pick.
Wilfried – The guitar is a Taylor 815. It’s a jumbo, Brazilian rosewood, with a three piece back. I got it in 1986, so it was before Taylor started mass producing guitars, back when Taylor himself was hand picking the woods.

Your playing is great, you have a really logical, consistent way of building phrases. Dug!
