I had a good time learning the licks and then I tried bending the licks for new ideas. I just discovered that I lost all my old posts to AM. I’ve been a member for a few years and have made some posts but they seem to have gone away. I noticed on my profile that there weren’t any media totals. I posted EP103 Style of JJ Cale recently and it is not listed. I’m interested to see what happens to this one. I’m still trying to get comfortable with surfing the site.

Hey John,
Good one, you definitely captured the Gilmour sound. He’s one of my favorites. I think your time learning this will pay dividends by all the skill on bends and phrasing that Gilmour uses. Glad you posted.

Thanks Scattercreek. Yeah,I try to learn Brian’s lesson and then I use Audacity for improv practice. It’s a simple program to use. I use it to practice the licks, try new ideas and then mixing practice. I had a good time putting this post together.

That I really liked. That’s one of my favorite lessons, and I’ve learned it pretty well, but I never was able to come up with any decent sounding improv as you have done. Now you’ve inspired me to have another go at it. I’m thinking what might be cool is to change the chord sequence somewhere along the line, but that would require me to make my own backing track. Or maybe I could just splice an interlude into Brian’s excellent backing track.
Bryce may have some insight on how to find your earlier posts – he seems to know how to do it.

Sunjamr I’m glad you liked the tune. I use Audacity for practice and recording.I have added interludes to some of the backtracks but I don’t have a drum program to use. I tried to come up with some ideas to arrange some changes on the track but they all needed a drum part. Thanks for the listen.

Also, I post all my stuff as videos, so they’re easy to find on Youtube. Is it not possible to search for them on SoundCloud?

That was great, btw all your old posts going back more than a year are still there, go into your account and pick “forums” and it will list all the topics started by yourself.
“Media” is empty though, did you upload music or pictures/video to that section?...Billy..

Billy, thank you for the help but I’m still confused. How do I initially go to my profile? I try My Account but that doesn’t work.I’ve only been able to access My Profile thru Latest Forum Posts. Also how do I enter anything into Profile Media? I notice that for example Charjo has 41 Media items,39 music and 2 photos. How were they entered? I’m still a novice on the site.

Here’s a snap shot of your post.
Go to the forum on your profile, your post will show up. I’ll see if they are still active.
Yes, they are still active on the forum.
Hope this helps you and what our good man (the always helping hand) Billy says also.
The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete
It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. 🙂 6 stringer Pete

Nicely done John.
For me if I click on My Account I get a drop down, if you click My Account again it goes to My Account, My Profile. From there click on Media and there will be an Upload icon, click it and it’ll open a box where you can drag and drop MP3 files.
Hope that helps some, I’m far from the expert with this stuff myself.

thank you so much Rob. I would click My Account and it would scroll open but I did not click it again to open my profile. It now works and I can now add media to my file. Once again thank you Billy and Pete. I don’t feel like such a moron now.
