I really tried to do the Brian tempo and couldn’t come close. So I slowed it down in Reaper.
It’s played on a Fender Telecaster American Standard through a focusrite interface into Reaper with Amplitube Free Software amp.

Very very well played indeed Martyn, some of Brian’s songs sound and feel better when slowed down, TBH I dont think Brian expects us to play his songs the way he does but to improvise and put our own slant on them which you have done here..
well done my friend...Billy..

Martyn,
Nicely played with some nice improv. I did this one for a challenge a few months back. Like you I slowed it down, but to my ear it kind of changed the tune to more of a western swing feel. With a lot a practice I eventually got it up to Brian’s tempo.

Really well done Martyn, I’m not familiar with Brian’s take so this sounds great to me. I’ll be checking this one out. Perfect tone, enjoyed.

Enjoyed listening. Got them jazzy bounces in there.
The melody of the notes is what expresses the art of music . 🙂 6stringerPete
It really is all about ”melody”. The melody comes from a language from our heart. Our heart is the muscle in music harmony. The melody is the sweetness that it pumps into our musical thoughts on the fretboard. 🙂 6 stringer Pete

Hi Martyn,
You’re in your groove…..the Jazzy groove….swingy, Jazzy, and toney. Yep, I’m liking it and I’m buying it……tone was right there!
That’s how you do it!

This is one of my favorite lessons that Brian has ever put out. While Brian’s original is a barn-stormmer, your slowed-down version plays very nicely and your improv fits the original flavor very well. Well done!
(In the interest of full disclosure, this one is high on my list for a “2nd verse challenge”…)
