Hi fellow AMer’s,
I’ve been MIA for a while and haven’t been playing much. Been busy with family, maintenance, gardening and enjoying the summer. Brian’s new lesson is fantastic for rhythm and lead and I just couldn’t help myself. Here’s a short clip of the lead part. Hope you enjoy. Have a great week.

Very nice, great groove and tone, well played, but a bit short I was just getting into it.
Don’t be so stingy next time play a little longer.

Sorry, Ken. Just wanted the challenge of getting up to Brian’s tempo. Short and sweet. I’ve heard you’re supposed to leave them wanting more😉.

I love that lesson, too! It’s not even that difficult…well apart from the light speed😯.
Very well mastered 🎸👍. The tremolo was done perfectly.

Well played John, and very quick off the mark. The melody on this lesson also caught my attention and I wondered if it was possible to play both parts ‘if slowed down’….. considerably.

Great to hear you back playing John and definitely worth the wait! A fast learn and you nailed the blistering pace with ease. I love the trills at round the 0.30 mark and tone you dialed in. All the best! 🥸🎸🥸

Got that down pat in such a short space of time. Yes, it is fantastic lesson, kudos to you for the rendition as it was awesome and at that speed.😯

Absolutely excellent as always Charjo. You play with such impressive technical proficiency. I also like the clean overdrive you get out of your Strat – I still haven’t quite figured out how to get that on mine.

Thanks, Geoff. Lately I’ve been stacking two overdrives. Here I’m using my Strymon Deco, which is a low saturation, transparent drive in front of my JHS Bonsai, which features 9 varieties of Tube Screamers. I considered the bridge pick up but preferred position 2, bridge and middle pick up. Neck pick up was too dark. I think I added some compression in the software, as well.

Oh wow you did a lot to get that nice sound John. I have a boss ME-80 multi-effects which has built-in effects for overdrive – it works a treat with my Guild but the Strat always sounds rough through it. I have actually taken that guitar in to a music shop for an overhaul because I put my own classic vibe pickups in it and I know I made a complete dogs breakfast of that – hopefully it will be a perfect guitar after they have dealt with it. Still learning a lot about my Strat – it’s beautiful on clean tones and ,for that alone, I still really like that guitar.
I have to say, I respect you for the attention to small details you put into playing right down to technique and how you make use of effects.

Fantastic John, along with your great tone and precision you’ve added speed to the equation. What’s next for The Dr? 🤔
