I just stumbled on this lesson as it was free on an ad. lol And it’s one of the best practical theory lessons I’ve seen here yet.

I have a question about using the site. Is there a better way to find certain types of lessons. For example, if I wanted to find more lessons like EP471.

Generally I end up using YouTube to search and then come back here for the premium. There has to be a better way. Lol.

Well ….. Let’s try this again.

Hi Mr So & So, For similar lessons you can use the search bar here on the site. Here are some key words that you could use: neighborhood, visualize, shapes, zones, positions or patterns to name a few.

Ep425 is a neighborhood lesson, Ep530 uses 3 zones and has similarities to Ep471 because of the patterns used, Ep440 uses the ‘L’ shape and Ep356 is a 1-4-5 using CAGED in 3 positions.

The recent MicroLesson 103 is another practical theory packed lesson worth checking out and is under 14 minutes.

These are some of the lessons that have clues in their titles for more theoretical based lessons. Hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions, there are many here that can help you with that.

Thank you so much Laurel. That was extremely helpful. I struggle trying to find the right lessons on here. I tried the “neighborhood” keyword. As you mention, that only brings up the one video.

530 was EXACTLY what I was looking for. A practice song to tie it all together with muscle memory.

I know Brian very often throws little chunks of theory into lessons. As he’s teaching, he likes to teach the “why”. Which I appreciate. However it can be frustrating to switch between learning the licks and learning theory. Sometimes I just want to learn the song and then get the why. Or visa versa.

Anyhow, I’m ranting. Thanks for the tips on the keywords and the lessons.

Well ….. Let’s try this again.

To me “neighborhood” just means a CAGED position. +1 on 356, I got a lot out of that lesson. I loved 530 as well, I jam on that one often 🙂

                So Mr,
I love it when folks get there questions answered on the forum. I usually find lessons to re-visit. EP 530 is a sweet track for sure!

                Mike
