Thought I would bust out one of my very favorite AM lessons. I usually do this on an acoustic but thought this little shoot out between my Maple Sisters would be fun. Love ’em both. Each has its own clarity and ‘growl.’

The maple girls both sound great John! I’m a Strat player but always looking for that Tele to add to the fold. Thanks for the comparison.

It’s hard to not love a good Tele. Sounds great!
It's all about the journey, not the destination.

Two totally different sounds…both of them were great and you played them excellently too!

Can’t beat The Maple Sisters John. Awesome playing and great to hear two classic guitars played back-to-back. All the best! 😎🎸😎

Both versions well played John. The Tele definitely sounds more Country (Duh), but the Strat sounds great too. It’s great that you have both guitars (and a Les Paul) to cover any guitar mood you happen to be in at the time. (My first good electric guitar was a cherry Telecaster with a maple neck. Loved that Geetar. The neck pickup was awesome).

Hi John, I also love that lesson. It’s in my “vacation with Taily” repertoire. It actually sounds great on both electric guitars. Very well played. For that 🤠lesson I do prefer the Tele! It’s more rough and nasty.
Didn’t you used to own a Gretsch hollowbody, too? That guitar would suityou best😁.

Great idea Denise… the Gretsch is on my list… can’t decide which one to buy. But thanks for the great vibe.

Both sound great in the hands of a pro like you. Personally I prefer the twang of the Tele.

Awe I appreciate that… As much as I want to love the Strat, I agree the Tele is a beast.

Terrific playing John, you brought out the best in both those maple beauties. So good to hear the comparison too, I’m constantly wondering if I should add a Strat to my collection and hearing the difference is useful. For me the Tele wins here with that gnarly bite but when you hit those low strings/chords on the Strat it had such a heft to the sound Wow! Would love a bit of that!

Nice demo and playing! I traded my strat for a tele a couple of years ago. I don’t know why but I prefer the tele – no logic just a visceral feeling.

Very nice playing John. I like both guitars, but in this context the Tele absolutely rules!

Awesome playing John.
Gotta say I think the Tele has the slight edge on this one.
The quack on that Strat tho 👌
Pretty sure the poll would be too close to call.
Sounding great none the less bud.
