I discovered this lesson on youtube a little over a week ago. I learned the first half of it and practiced it with a metronome and got it down pretty good. But I really wanted to learn the second half. I bought a month membership here yesterday mostly to get that lesson 🙂
So when you hear this, I just started learning the second half yesterday. It needs a lot of polishing. All of it does actually 🙂 I really want to start on EP 190 bad. I think it would be awesome using the slide on some of the licks. So I am going to work on that lesson and spend a few minutes a day working on EP 284 since I have the jist of it and just need to polish it up.
I am new here so I will warn you in advance. I have some hats. I draw inspiration through the hat (with no hair getting in the way). And I am too old to care if the hat makes me look silly. If it makes me feel like I look more like a blues player it puts me more in the mood, which enhances my presentation 🙂

Nice boogie Roger! I like the way you muted the base notes. The hat doesn’t make you look silly. Graeme, another member of A/M has a hat with flashing lights on it! Most of us are beyond the age of trying to be cool. Just be yourself and keep posting.

Thankyou very much. So far I have liked the site. I really like how active this forum is. I have been going through listening to others play and I have been going through the lessons. I am pretty sure that next month I will go ahead and buy a year membership.
I like the songs that don’t require backing tracks. If I have a friend over who asks me to play something, I prefer not to set up to play over a track, I prefer to just pick up my guitar and play some riffs.
Tracks are nice for setting a mood and making me feel like I am playing in a band so they absolutely do have their place.

Thankyou. At 63 I went beyond that age a while back. Though I am not ready to wear my beltline around my chest just yet 🙂 I was just putting out fair warning 🙂 I recently bought a derby hat for when I play my resonator 🙂
I learned a lot of nice licks and some cool techniques learning this song. I hope if I just run through it 2 or 3 times a day in a couple of weeks I will be able to play it cleaner and smoother.

Nice job and welcome to the site Roger. It’s plain to see, you aren’t a beginner. You play quite well especially for only spending 1 day with the second half of the lesson.
I look forward to hearing 190 when you get around to it. -

I look forward to hearing 190 when you get around to it.Thankyou very much. I am getting ready to put up the first few bars. I tried it with the slide, it’s going to take a while to learn this one because in addition to learning the licks, I am going to be figuring out where the slide works and where it doesn’t

Well done Roger. Great groove. Stay tuned.
Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.
