I did this one over Christmas and I had so much fun playing it I felt I had to put this up here. The only sad thing is I didn’t have any Dreads for for the playing of this.

You’ve definitely got the groove going there Geoff. Accurately played and it feels like you’re in the band (except for the missing dreadlocks!). Also great to hear you on electric. All the best!

Irie, mon! Nicely played. You’ve got that skank down to perfection. I’m a big reggae fan. I spent about 4 years sailing all through the Caribbean islands and made many friends among the Rastafari. There’s some really cool modern day reggae happening these days, with musicians such as Mike Love and some of the guys from Hawaii. One of my favorites is Stick Figure (Scott Woodruff) from California & Hawaii. He started off as a one-man band, playing all tracks and making the videos himself. This is one of the finest music videos I’ve ever seen:

When I first heard it, there were around 10,000 Youtube views. Now there are nearly 20 million. People recognize quality when they hear/see it.

Hi there Sunjamr. Thank you for your kind words. I actually have had minimal exposure to Reggae. I just heard Brian’s lesson and figured I had to give it a go.

I am interested in your comments about sailing around the Caribbean Islands. I have had my own brush with sailing many years ago but it was from South Africa to the UK.

That is a great track you put up here, he really is very good.

Geoff, You’re playing left-handed? You were right-handed last week! You nailed this. Seems you’ve come to grips with the pick (pun intended). You played with authority, and very good timing and execution. Turn it up and keep on rockin’ it Geoff.

Its that blasted phone of mine Ralph. I think i finally figured out how to record myself left handed – I could only wish I could play the guitar both ways :).

I really am going to need to figure out how to turn it up but my phone is rather limited for that. Maybe time for me to think about a microphone.

Thanks Clarke, I saw that. When I uploaded the video, the upload crapped out right in the middle and I think that link got corrupted somehow. I would remove it and retry if it were possible.
