well i really enjoyed this so much, going to learn some old blue grass tunes this spring! i used a small hard fender tortuous jazz pick i did not like at all,, kept moving.. only other pick i had was way too light like a .50mm wish i had my favorite picks I LEFT HOME! , still,Aside from using a good favorite stiff pick, this picking technique takes time and lot of practice/ alternating and fill licks between rhythm and timing..Metronome important learning this picking technique too which i’ll likely start doing for more advanced bluegrass! later yall! I’m going to gortex up and try my luck for crappies ! cheers!

love it you are a guitar picker no doubt. 172 is a challenge to play and you did it! My timing is horrible . No Soul, NO Rhythm. 7 months playing and I’m so excited but i’m no 63 year old prodigy.

Some very nice picking there, John. Good job! I like playing this and then going into a basic version of Wildwood Flower, which seem to work quite well together.

That Carter scratch style bluegrass is good stuff. Good practice to play the chords and melody. And not so blistering fast as a lot of the more modern bluegrass pickers like Tony Rice.
Great job John. As usual, you learned it fast and performed it well. Hope the Crappie were biting.

                  Looks wet and chilly there.

                    John, when I’m honest,
I wish we both would sit in a salon with a nice beer and make country music together. LOL.
                    You’re just great!

Play guitar just like you live; don't get bogged down in theory, it's just a tool without feeling.
