Easiest challenge ever!!!

Yay, I’ve finished it already! It only took me 2 hours to record it.

My thinking was this: I learned the most interesting and enduring tricks during the first year after I joined. My main goal was to learn to play standalone acoustic blues, so those early standalone blues lessons have had the greatest influence on my playing. The fact that after one year as a member I could sit down and play acoustic blues by myself and sound pretty good was just mind-blowing. I felt like a guitar superhero. And so for this challenge, I have just played the most influential lessons from my first year.

Of course there have been many incredible lessons since then, and lately they are touching on all kinds of theory, tricks, and techniques, which I have dutifully absorbed. But all those are just icing on the cake, and real cake was baked during my first year of learning.

So this August challenge is going to be a really interesting challenge to see what everyone comes up with.

I’m going a similar route Steve. Picking the most influential lesson, which happens to be from earlier in my membership timeframe. Rather than re-play it I’m going to do a stand-alone electric blues inspired by the concepts laid out in the lesson. The hard part will be talking into the camera 🙂
