This is how I’m adding ear training to my guitar practice.
Using Rick Beato’s Ear Training course to improve my musicianship and get better with my instrument is now part of my regular daily training regimen.
This video has examples of how I’m actually using The Beato ear training course.

Thanks for that – I was trying to do something similar (15 mins each session) a while ago using lickin riff’s ear training. I dropped it for no good reason but should make a regular thing of it!

I am a complete beginner in terms of ear training, when looking at the modules, there are a lot of super advanced topics that I dont know if I will ever get that far. Rick’s material is amazing however!

Yes Kevin, it does seem like a lot to get through. My advice is to simply start training your ear now.
The reason for this is that as a beginner you can not see the rest of the path that lies before you in the years, even decades to come if you are lucky.Like a 12 year old who can’t wait to be 18 the beginner can’t wait to be good at guitar but the 12 year old can not reach the pedals of the car they want to drive, they don’t have the self discipline to hold the job they think they will have and they still have a lot of growing to do.
Training your ear is a fundamental part of playing guitar. It’s maturing and growing into being a guitar player and without it your growth is stunted and your maturity as a player/musician lags and falls short.
Start training your ear now, and things will come faster for you as you progress, what seemed insurmountable in the beginning will be small and frivolous as you mature and grow into your future guitar player self.
This I know, because I’m on the path just like you. Things are easier to learn and play now that my ears are better trained. For me those are the facts. They can be for you too.
Start your ear training now and you will hear the difference for yourself.
