Just added a digitech trio pedal to my board – anyone tried one of these? It’s not really something I’d gig with but for home practice its pretty cool. You just have to ‘teach it’ a chord progression by playing it with your guitar then when you step on the pedal it produces a drum/bass backing track to jam to. Its not a looper as such and you could add your rhythm playing to a looper to use alongside it, but on its own it works really well. Its not unlike a drum box but with this you don’t have to program the key or chords – just play it into the pedal using your guitar. Once it ‘learns’ the progression and picks up the tempo it starts playing a suitable backing for you. You can control the tempo and style as well to experiment. Great for writing your own songs as well – very inspiring bit of kit.
