This is a really nice video that shows how to create lick variations in the top part of the E shaped dominant chord in blues. It justifies my obsession with seeing intervals. You could apply the same concept to the A and C shaped dominant chords using the mixolydian scale of the tonic to create endless variations in a 12 bar form. It also reopened my eyes to incorporating chromatic passing tones.
Fun fact, John has the same strat as me but he’s changed his pick guard.

Thanks for posting this one it’s just what I have been noodling with. I am with you instinctive mastery of the major scale and intervals seem to me to be vitally important and it’s in essence not complicated if you just get stuck in and then a few great videos show what can be achieved.
