I have a fender blues junior tweed. Simple and straightforward to use. It’s 15 Watts with lots of punch. Has a 12 inch jensen speaker nice creamy and clear tones. Can be quite bright so knock back the treble and mids and up the bass. Spend some time dialling in tone you like. Has in built-in spring reverb and overdrive. The reverb is a matter of taste I think, I use sparingly. Cost about £600 in the UK. There is also the blues junior with the celestion speaker, cheaper than the tweed version. Happy hunting!

Like Andrew, I have the Blues Jr.It might be just what you are looking for. Some other good tube amps in that category are the Fender Princeton Reverb (12 watts 10″ speaker) and the Vox AC10 (10 watt). The Princeton goes for about $1100 but you can get a used one in your range. The Vox AC10 is a great little tube amp that has the sound it’s big brother the AC30 made famous. There is also a AC15 available.

Check out the Quilter Aviator Cub. 3 Great fender tones via multiple inputs (also great for jamming with a buddy on one amp), solid state reliability, lightweight and bulletproof. Great direct out can simulation for recording.
I did see that Fender is just coming out with a ToneMaster Princeton as well.

Do you want something that will hang with a drummer, or home only? Do you want crunch or clean?
A traditional 15w/12” would be plenty for jamming, but you’ll probably want an attenuator for crunch at home levels. I’d look at Blues Jr, Bassbreaker, or Vox AC15. All have reverb, not sure about built in attenuator….
I love my Vox AC4, plenty for home-only levels. No reverb, but I just add a pedal. Built in attenuator.
Also, check out Blackstar HT series. 1,5 and 20w versions. Great tone and EQ. Modern features like headphones, aux in, USB out, reverb and extension out.

The Peavey Classic 30 is a great amp for blues, blues rock, classic rock, country – its one of those amps that can do almost style of music.
Very reasonably priced on the used market.Shane, of In The Blues You Tube channel, demoed an amp recently that he described as a mix of a Blues Jr and the Classic 30 – the Artist Tweed Tone 20R. Shane’s demo sounds great
