This stripped-down album was made in a single session. B.B. King with Lloyd Glenn (piano), Ralph Hamilton (bass) and Jessie Sailes (drums); recorded in Los Angeles, March 1960.
The sound on the original vinyl is great but some people have said the 2003 CD reissue by Ace is even better.

Way cool. I never get tired of listening to BB. Or better, watching him play.

Steve, Billy, glad you found your way here. With the wealth of music on the internet, I noticed a song on here I hadn’t heard. When I played the album, I was blown away. I hadn’t heard this killer version of the opening “Lost Your Good Thing Now.” I knew I had to have this record. I played the playlist a couple times while I waited for delivery, and I still wasn’t ready for the music that leapt off the disc. So you can hear it here, but you gotta play a good copy to really hear it.
As I said above, people who have heard the 2003 reissue on CD from Ace say that’s even better than the vinyl. I find that hard to believe but I like the material so much I ordered one to find out. One thing I like about the LP is where the bass is mixed. It’s very present but the attack and decay aren’t sharp, it’s a little muffled.

Billy (anyone really), if you haven’t heard these, they’re dynamite! Volume 1 of The Complete Singles, As and Bs, 1949–1962 starts with B.B. King’s first single release. I don’t know if they’re chronological after that but these first three are the early records, the ones that blew everyone away.
Click through to YouTube if you want to see the complete song listing, they’re all playlists.

Glad you’re seeing them, John.
If there’s ever an artist whose work you want to find on YouTube, type their name followed by topic. It will lead you to a page of videos and playlists. That’s where I gathered these. I have a feeling that you’re going to be denied access to the same ones Billy was, but it’s likely that the company that’s licensing them in UK will have them there too.
