I have been getting some Jimmy Thackery tunes in my Pandora playlist lately. The tunes that I am hearing sound pretty much like Texas blues, although he apparently is not from Texas. Posted below is a version of Rude Mood, which is a take on a Stevie Ray Vaughn tune, ultimately derived from Lightnin’ Hopkins’ Sky Hop.

I have been working on some things trying to build speed. When I get to about 160 bpm, I feel like I just grabbed hold of a speeding freight train. The SVR tune reportedly was played at 264 bpm, and this one seems close, although when I am trying to clock it, my tapping is even precise enough to get a good read.

I used to have this CD, may have it somewhere LOL

For the most part, I like Thackery’s music but he’s not one that I”ve followed very closely
