I didn’t have a chance to buy Musician’s Friend’s Stupid Deal of the Day on the Peavey ReValver until after it was sold out but noticed another product that is similar – Audiffex ampLion Pro.
It doesn’t have all of the bells and whistles that Peavey or Amplitube does but what it has is pretty convincing.

$30 at Musician’s Friend ($99 on the audiiffex website)

Their support dept told me that an audio input device like Focusrite Scarlett would work well with the software, and such a device with a variable gain is what is required for ampLion.

Think I’ll try it later this week. Don’t have much to lose if it doesn’t work

Looks pretty nice, especially for the price. I’m still learning all the included stuff with garageband.
