I was just looking at the awesome EP543 and noticed that Brian has created two rounds of a 24 bar blues where each chord of the 12 bar receives double time. This is similar to Wilson Pickett’s “Mustang Sally”.
I can’t recall another lesson in a 24 bar blues format.

You are right. When Brian introduced the song I was thinking he’s playing many cycles. And we can add many more own calls to it.
I guess a lot of AMers are going to learn it! One of Brian’s best standalone lessons!

Yeh, that’s a great lesson, plenty of great licks and phrasing. I guess if you counted it “1, and, 2, and” instead of “1, 2, 3, 4” it could be seen as 12 bars. Or if you counted it “1 la lee la, 2 la lee la” it could be seen as 6 bar blues.

I liked this lesson so much for its groove and all those nice licks so that I printed the tabs out right away. But it’s rather lengthy so I wonder if I’ll ever get to it. It would be worth to be memorized, but at 24 bars that’s quite a challenge.

I love that Chicago blues lesson. Used it for the recent acoustic monthly challenge!

EP 450 (cream style blues lead) has a similar format. It struck me since I wanted a backing track for it. I couldn’t find one that fit so had to make my own!
