Robin just turned 77 on 09 March, still playing with the fire & fervor
        that he’s known for

His latest album will be released at the end of April

Good news, I hope to be hitting my guitar stride by 77. Sounds good, Keith, love that tone. How long ago did he put out his last album?

His album, United State of Mind, was released in 2020 just as the pandemic was causing all of the shutdowns so Robin wasn’t able to tour in support of it.

Robin’s a decent singer but I really miss James Dewar, who was his first singer. Long Misty Days was the first Trower album that I bought back in the day and James vocals on the title song is the first thing that comes to mind when I hear the name Robin Trawer.
James dewar was one of the greatest singers to come out of UK during that time period

Guitar has a Jimi sound, no?
              Robin’s a real artist.

                Hey Ron

People has said that Robin sounds much like Jimi and likely he was influenced by Jimi to a degree but as you said, Robin is a real artist
When you see him in a live show, it’s almost 3 hrs non-stop and each album release – yeah you know it’s Robin but he has new sounds with each one.

He’s one of the greats of our time

                  Hey Keith,
He’s one of my guitar heroes from way back. His use of bending and the Wah Wah pedal stand out to me. Some other great songs of his I love are the original cuts of Too Rolling Stoned, Little Bit of Sympathy, The Fool and Me and Lady Love.
                  Hey John,
You’ve got a pretty good stride going right now!

He has a very recognizable tone for sure. Speaking of his use of a Wah pedal, in addition to his regular Wah, he had Fulltone to design a pedal for him that would give him the sound of a Wah pedal that was in a stationery position.
He explains it in the video below

The result is now being sold by Fulltone as their Wah-Full pedal, EHX developed something similar – the Cock Fight pedal

Its really interesting that he says that his favorite record of all time is – Jame Brown Live At the Apollo. That kinda surprised me to hear him say that
As far as the Hendrix influence, it sounds like The Band of Gypsy’s LP and particularly Machine Gun was what gave him his Hendrix approach
