Love this one Brian. I love the sound of the A to the D9 and the D7. Such a cool sound. A more detailed lesson on this kind of Blues progression would be great too.

    Thanks Brian

From the sound and looking at the music, it looks like he is using a pick.

Really laid back and cool Brian. I do think that it makes us think more about what we are playing when you don’t do the discussion. I have to break it down myself, measure by measure and think about what is happening. However, I do appreciate the discussions you give on the longer lessons. Nicely done.

    Brian,
Many thanks, this is awesome. I love the ‘other side of the gate post’ D riffs. Light bulb!
    Thanks

Not really “outside”, Brian. Bar 5, going from the A7 to D7 really just became a mixed major/minor pentatonic lick, ie. almost A mixolydian. Sounds good, though. Love the chord transitions.

Sorry, thought you were going for an “outside” diminished lick. Guess it really was “outside” according to the birds.

hah – yeah, i meant outside as in outdoors – funny, i hadn’t considered that point of confusion!

Learning this progression has been a pleasure. Really helps me connect the individual notes to the chords. Would like to see this one extended to a full lesson. thank you

    Hi Brian,

A really nice progression, though I wish you would’ve considered (never too late) a more detailed lesson. There are portions where more in depth guidance would certainly have helped in mastering this wonderful piece in considerably less time. Thanks….

on ML 99 you gave a very close of video of how you played it! That was awesome. Can you consider doing all your stand alone blues this way especially the slow walk through. It is so much easier to follow, and the likelihood of me learning it.
