    If you combine this with some of the Muddy Waters stuff, and then the concepts behind the phrasing lesson, with a call and response type of arrangement, whooee! prayers for those out in Houston.

    I don’t know if this helps (or if it’s correct) but I have always played a D9 as second finger on the fifth string, first on the fourth string and third finger barring the 3rd, 2nd and first fret.

      Anton, that would be the typical way to play the D9 but, some of us are not flexible at that first joint on the ring finger and have to find a work around. Everybody’s fingers are a little unique.

    Thanks for your answer Charjo.
    I wanted to try this out in the key of E so used the D9 shape for the E and the A9 shape for the A and B

    Hi Brian and everybody. A nerdy question about the chord here C#m7b5 (or here A9/C#). Why is this not a C# Diminished instead?
