Description
In this MicroLesson (ML024) you’ll learn a classic Chuck Berry intro that can be broken down and played as a lead. I’ll show you how to play this note for note and will explain how to relate it back to familiar chords. I’ll also show you how to easily transpose this to any key.

Love it! Classic Chuck Berry for sure and his sound can’t be mistaken for anyone else. Those double stops rock!
Thanks for this. I’ll be learning this one.

Someone made a great suggestion for this McLesson, Brian!! Practicing this in every key is a great concept because it not only ingrains all the nuances and changes and double stops and note bending but prepares us just in case someone wants to play (and sing) this in the Key of C for instance. The one double stop bendy lick reminds me of the Eagles and specifically the Beatles (I want You so Bad off I believe Abbey Road)!! Jim C.

Hey Brian, a great lesson. But I have a problem with the PDF-file, because I hear tríols by your playing. In the PDF-file I see a shuffle notation. Can you clear me up.
Thank you and friendly greatings, Herbie.

confusing me too
Brian says
I don’t understand what you mean by “triols”? The tab is correct regarding the timing / feel.
Paul H says
Do you have a little pinkie stretch lesson for the chunka /chunka shufle as of 19 secs in , or is there another way to play it as have a very bent pinkie,
Thanks.
John J says
thanks, Brian, I’ve always felt like a bit of a dope for never learning this iconic riff. Surprised you didn’t go with your 335 for this one..or maybe you didn’t have it yet?
