Description
This guitar lesson is all about strumming technique. I’ll break down an up-tempo, funk rhythm in detail, and show you how to get your right hand moving to improve your rhythm playing. This style adds a percussive element to your playing as well. I’ve also got the on-screen tab feature available for premium members, as well as the tab, and 2 versions of the MP3 jam track (one normal tempo, one slow).

Very cool, Brian. And JohnStrat, amen to that. I’ve just started so it’s going to be a while before I ever catch up, but actually it’s great to have so many lessons waiting for me.
Brian Another nice lesson. I wish I could learn to play them as quick as you put them out. Thanks
Great lesson Brian…looking forward to getting stuck into this one…
I already know a lot of the chords but can’t ever put them together, especially a funk groove like this…its hard for me to control my right hand and keep the groove going, so I’m hoping this will help me out a lot..
Thank you John strat.. I thought I was the only one that was always behind.
There’s so much stuff on line how to play the ultimate solo, but this shows (again) how much music there is in good rhythm combined with a few fill licks. Developing a good internal sense of timing is really important imho to being a decent player, critical for good player. Good one Brian… like the others said, I wish i could keep up; I’m back about 30 lessons ago! (although a jazz style one is now one of my standards)
Bring on Jake and Elwood along with Steve Cropper and Matt “Guitar” Murphy!! Great fun stuff that really hits it home with that all-important timing thing and nice chord options!!
Jim C.
Really enjoyed that one and got my daughter jamming along on her saxophone which was lot of fun.
Thanks.
Thanks - just what I need. Great lesson.
how to slow down don’t know what gear icon is lol
Hi, and many Thanks for your lessons.
One question about the pick you are using for strumming, do you need to use different pick for alternate picking on one string (for a some riff or solo by example) and for strumming pattern as this one ? In my case (I am using 0,8mm), when I try strumming, it sound bad, the pick is “hurting” the strings during the up strum.
Maybe it’s only a technic weakness 😉
