Description
Have you ever wanted to learn how to play the Star Spangled Banner on the guitar? For some reason, I’ve had lots of requests for this one through the years (I’m assuming because of the famous Jimi Hendrix version). So feeling patriotic as the 4th of July weekend approaches here in the U.S., I thought I’d create my own simple composition of the National Anthem. This is played fingerstyle, but it’s VERY easy, so don’t be intimidated by it. This is something that I’d encourage all levels to try and this can be played on electric or acoustic guitar.

I’m Canadian but like the how well a simplistic arrangement of this great melody sounds here. Perhaps and arrangement like this one for “America the Beautiful” for this July 4th? Just a thought.

This is another reason you have a terrific site. You come up with terrific lessons and ideas instead of just pumping out the every day guitar mush that can be found online. Love this lesson, I only wish I had more time to spend practicing!
You mentioned seeing Keith Richards and his Rolling Stones recently. I will be in the 7th row at their Buffalo show next Saturday. Thanks to you and your economically priced more bang for the buck lessons (A 4th of July pun!) I was able to splurge for 7th row seats instead of my usual nose bleed seats in the rafters!
Thanks for a great site.

Brian. This is great. As all your lessons explained so well. I’d really like it if you would really blues it up, not Hendrix , not Clapton, no one just your stile. Like you did EP393. Now that would be cool.
