Description

In this week’s guitar lesson, you’ll learn how to play a slow blues rhythm and lead that alternates between a major chord, and it’s relative minor (E and C#m). You can use the same pentatonic scale to play over both of these chords, making it fun and relatively easy to improvise in this style.

      I dont want to sound like a broken record, but this stuff is so enjoyable to listen to and play. I know everyone has different tastes but this and Ep327 a few weeks back is what id love to see more of, thankyou Big time.
      Ps. A small tip for beginners….learn one phrase and do your best to replicate before moving on.

    Love the major-relative minor blues stuff! Great for just jamming by myself and letting the groove take the stress of the day away. I hear some overdrive going on but am I also hearing some slight modulation? (tremolo or univibe). Very cool ton – curious what amp & effects you have the Kemper profiling? Love your lessons, always a nice range of styles and they keep getting better! Appreciate your teaching style and arrangements.

    good Saturday morning! Just started this fantastic lesson.. watching the intro now..yes cool you explained finding the relative in two ways.. the 6th,, i just count off any key root note minor or major to the sixth note and that’s what you explained in the 2nd way to find relative.. anyway this is going to be fun over a few mugs of coffee this morning ty much thumbs up!

    Thanks for all the great lessons. I know you really like the key of E, but it would be good if you would show us more in other keys. There’s a bunch of them right? Some guitarists play all or mostly in E, and that’s really too bad.

    Nice matriculation from last week. I think there was some mention of this last week
    So- the E major scale (all patterns ) are the same as the C sharp minor scales. ..pentatonic of course .?

    I took a lesson last week to learn a song on you tube and the teacher never explained why any licks worked or where they came from. ,
    Seemed weird
    Anyway nice lesson with great ideas for future use

    You keep producing the goods Brian, can’t thank you enough for the way you deliver the lesson and for the content. Might be just me but some lessons seem to build on the theme of the previous lesson sometimes and I think that really helps reinforce the learning. The encouragement you give is also so valuable too so don’t change a thing, you are doing magic for me.

        same issue, even trying to check out your Blues lead course the download speed is horrific. I have no issues with view Youtube or other sides.
        you might want some one to check your website.

        I’ll try tomorrow to see if there is any difference at different times, it so slow cant view the videos 🙁

    Ace lesson. I love the explanation between the relative minor chord and the major chord. I’m starting to build up a picture now with your descriptions and lessons. Really good stuff.

    One man’s ceiling is another man’s floor. This is ine very cool SRVish guitar lick. I’m working on memorizing it and playing it. But, your definition of aliw, us way faster than mine. But, thats okay, I think it sounds great played slow. Your slow version us more my speed … 🙂
